Our Work
FFLC will work in partnerships with local governments and community institutions to foster the provisioning of basic infrastructure and local services as well as training to unleash local growth potential. Specific investments will include:

Small local infrastructure such as foot paths, foot bridges, latrines and multi-purposes community structures, etc. These activities will require the full participation of local communities from design to implementation, monitoring and evaluation, thereby establishing a culture of local ownership of the public good, and downwards accountability to citizens.

Vocational Training for Youth and other Disadvantage Groups. Pursue the construction of multi-purpose community structures to serve as a new “public sphere” for youth to access vocational training, public library and internet facilities, sports opportunities and other forms of social engagement

Livelihood Support and Access to Markets. As part of leadership training at the community level, a special focus shall be devoted to the formation of self-help groups, who pool their resources with the goal of having better access to markets and sources of funding.
Working closely with local institutions, formal or informal, to develop strate- gies and approaches to solve their problems and to enhance the quality of their lives and sources of livelihood. We firmly believe that the creation of public value for citizens and the institu- tionalization of accountable and responsive local governments are the critical building blocks of a modern and accountable state.
